What is the purpose of DDAC
 
The Durham Deaf Accessibility Committee (DDAC) is mandated to ensure full and equal participation of deaf and hard of hearing persons in all communities in the Durham Region.

Annually identifies, removes (where possible), and prevents barriers to access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Access includes use of goods, services, facilities, accommodation, buildings, structures and premises

Monitors  the activities of and collaborates with Durham Advisory Accessibility Committees (including Regional Municipality of Durham  Town of Pickering, Town of Ajax, Town of Whitby, City of Oshawa, Municipality of Clarington, Township of Uxbridge, Township of Scugog and Township of Brock) based on DDAC’s established annual priorities .......
